This update is about how to customize your cover module 4 FLASH or cover module 5 PRESS for grid600.
For module 4, You need some soldering tools. I assume that you have them, of course.
How to set up the hardware.
First, you need access to the PCB of module 4 by removing it from the chassis.
Second, carefully remove the flex cable, and you should find R5 and R6.
Third, apply some solder to connect R5 and R6.
Forth, put everything back.
Now you can connect your grid600 to your computer. Download and install Arduino IDE . Download grid600mod4_source.zip,unzip it. Put folders under Libraries into the Arduino Libraries (you may find the folder here). You also need to install Adafruit_NeoPixel library. You can download here or you can install it by going to sketch/Include Library/Manage Libraries, and search for Adafruit Neopixel.
Now open the grid600mod4_source.ino inside the folder with the same name. Look into Tools/Port, and you should see an Arduino Leonardo, check it. In Tools/Board, check Arduino Leonardo.
Now you can customize your board like delete or add light effects. Adjust the speed, brightness or creating your very own light effects. We use WS2812FX library, you can find more information here.
Here is an example of how to adjust the brightness.
At line 45 is the brightness value. The larger the number, the module go brighter. If you want to dimmer your mod 4, type in a smaller number and upload the sketch.
